WHAT IS LOVE?

Love loves to love. It’s nothing personal.
— Mooji

Love is pure awareness. The flow of consciousness.

It is what you always are but may have forgotten.

Some may call it “the grace of God”, and as long as we agree to see God as consciousness itself, source, the creative intelligence manifested into form through you, me, birds and bees, rocks and trees and all in between….

…that feels good to me.

Love’s unhindered movement through form invites self, others and environment to infinitely flow and expand.

It is the directed energy of expansive, flowing growth… which flows through the human instrument via our minds.

Identification with our minds, thoughts and the phenomena that pass through our minds causes us to forget that we are NOT OUR MINDS… but we are the source consciousness that is flowing through our minds.

Identifying with our minds, bodies and our personhood creates the conditions for anti-flow… because ones awareness is no longer aware of the flow of love/ consciousness itself.

It is caught in the illusion of seeing itself as the “I”.

Where this “anti-flow” manifests is where our deepest inner work is.

It doesn’t have to be hard work or any work at all.

For some enlightened masters, such as Sri Ramana Maharshi, a spontaneous moment of Self-realisation, which came as a near-death experience was enough to forever be out of the illusion and to forever be in the realisation that the true Self, the true I is love, pure consciousness itself.

I AM THAT I AM THAT I AM THAT I AM THAT I AM THAT I AM THAT I AM.

However, for me, and for most people, we have moments of Self-realisation…. and may even exist in this God-state for a while… but eventually, the attachment to personhood/ ego self comes back.

Dealing with this requires noticing the ego-mind at play… and how the attachment to its stories, judgements, patterns and labels puts us into contraction/ anti-flow.

Once we notice them… our attachment to them must die, if we want to truly evolve. These are “processes” which necessarily cause some degree of pain, confusion and discomfort….

..Because it is death. Death of personhood, ego, identities that you and I have mistakenly identified with.

Death of identities is a bit like unblocking the toilet.

It’s as sacred as it gets… but you gotta roll your sleeves up and commit to getting that shit out of the system.

Many people avoid these processes because they are too hard, and instead when they feel the first sense of contraction/ death energy they will recoil into a dark cave of self-loathing or shame…

…retreat to a time-tested avoidance or addiction pattern… intellectualise the wound, numb it, psycho-therapize it into a looping stuckness.

Or… unload like a loaded weapon on something/ someone external (which is truly horrendous if you carry on my toilet metaphor to its shitty conclusion.)

Those paths are not borne of love… they are the ego-mind on the rampage, doing everything it can to avoid the piercing light of love, to ensure its own survival as the “I” in the driver’s seat of your life.

Avoidance, addiction and all the rest of the things humans do to avoid the truth, deepens the connection to what is not Love, not the true I.

It creates an ego-mind attachment complex that builds up and spreads…. like cancer until malignant and terminal…

…or until something in the Being of the person “pops”… like a popcorn kernel that’s had so much heat and pain its exploded from its brown shell.

The idea or invitation of life is to “pop” in Self-realisation awareness long before you “pop your clogs” and physically die…. so you can spend your life living ((as GOD), rather than in the misery of dying alive.

We “pop” by finally getting to that threshold, where continuing the old ways of being the bitch of your mind is not worth it or just not possible.

When we pop we naturally destroy the perceptions of self as the mind. What emerges is the awakening of Self as IT, the oneness.

In this explosive act of self-love, the seeds of regeneration are unlocked and sprayed over the fertile soil of one’s life….

This what all rites of passage are designed to do.

But we don’t need culturally enforced rites of passage- because this has nothing to do with culture. It’s about the heart, making a personal choice to drop the bullshit.

We can self-initiate by guiding ourselves beyond the threshold of old identities and into the great unknown of new beginnings and uncharted expansions.

Self-initiation is the path of the heart. This is love embodied. Love in action.

We know we’ve initiated or popped into love because all of a sudden life force energy flows through us and we experience feelings of sheer aliveness that were previously unimaginable.

We have awoken from the nightmare that we are (JUST) neurotic personality-minds with bodies.

So, what is true love?

It is WHAT IS.

IT IS THE TRUE YOU.

The I behind the I.

The God behind the mind.

All that flows from the heart is love….

And as Mooji says: “Love loves to love. It’s nothing personal”.

Let that drop in.

Did it land yet?

Yeah. That’s the feeling of truth.

Blessings on your journey!

“When love awakens in your life, in the night of your heart, it is like the dawn breaking within you.

Where before there was anonymity, now there is intimacy; where before there was fear, now there is courage; where before in your life there was awkwardness, now there is a rhythm of grace and gracefulness; where before you used to be jagged, now you are elegant and in rhythm with your self.

When love awakens in your life, it is like a rebirth, a new beginning.”
